Dr Amir Solhpour is an advanced structural interventional cardiologist trained at the prestigious Texas Medical Center, the hugest medical center in the world, located at Houston, Texas where the first heart transplant in the US was performed and also many first innovative cardiac procedures have been performed for the first time in the United States. He was selected as the clinical and research cardiology fellow of the year several times during his training and received several awards. He has six board certificates which is rare among cardiologists. He is American board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Interventional Cardiology, Echocardiography, Nuclear Cardiology and Registered Physician For Vascular Interpretation (RPVI exam certified). Dr Solhpour practiced cardiology for two years in Texas before he moves to Southern California to be close to his family. In addition to extra training in lipid and cholesterol management, his subspecialty includes management of various cardiac and vascular conditions using minimally invasive catheter-based therapy. This includes wide range of procedures such as TransCatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) for severe symptomatic aortic valve stenosis, MitraClip procedure to percutaneously repair leaky mitral valve, Left atrial appendage closure using WATCHMAN device, closure of PFO or ASD. He is also specialized in treating aortic aneurysm using minimally invasive approach (EVAR). As an interventional cardiologist, he also treats various life threatening conditions such as cardiac arrest or cariogenic shock using percutaneous ECMO placement to bypass both lung and heart in an emergency situations as a bridge to the final treatment. Dr Solhpour also treats life-threatening pulmonary embolism or large burden thrombus in the arterial system of the lower extremity via placement of EKO catheter and using reduced dose targeted fibrinolytic. Dr Solhpour just recently wrote a chapter as first author about “Percutaneous Left Ventricular Assist Devices” in one of the internationally well known book references for interventional cardiologists, entitled “Cardiovascular Catheterization and Interventions” published in 2017. He speaks English, Farsi and French.

Dr Solhpour enjoys watching movies, playing volleyball and traveling during his free time. He is so excited to use his expertise to serve residents of Glendale and Los Angeles area to treat and more importantly to prevent cardiovascular diseases.
