Dr. Amir Solhpour is an advanced structural interventional cardiologist with a distinguished background in cardiac medicine. Trained at the prestigious Texas Medical Center, one of the world's largest and most renowned medical institutions situated in Houston, Texas, Dr. Solhpour brings a wealth of experience and expertise to his practice.
Throughout his training, Dr. Solhpour achieved remarkable recognition, earning the title of Clinical and Research Cardiology Fellow of the Year on multiple occasions and receiving several prestigious awards. His dedication to excellence is reflected in his impressive six board certifications, which include Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Interventional Cardiology, Echocardiography, Nuclear Cardiology, and Registered Physician for Vascular Interpretation (RPVI).
Having practiced cardiology in Texas for two years, Dr. Solhpour made the heartfelt decision to relocate to Southern California in 2018 to be close to his family. His passion for improving patient outcomes through cutting-edge treatments and minimally invasive catheter-based therapies distinguishes him as a leading expert in the field.
Dr Solhpour is currently Medical Director of structural heart program at Adventist Health Glendale hospital, Vice chair of cardiology department at Memorial hospital and Director of echocardiography department at USC Verdugo Hills Hospital. He has pioneered and performed the first MitraClip, TriClip and WATCHMAN procedures at Glendale area. Dr. Solhpour's subspecialty includes managing a diverse array of cardiac and vascular conditions, utilizing advanced procedures such as Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) for severe symptomatic aortic valve stenosis, Mitra Clip procedures for percutaneous mitral valve repair, and Left Atrial Appendage Closure using the innovative WATCHMAN device. His expertise also extends to treating aortic aneurysms with a minimally invasive approach (EVAR).
As an interventional cardiologist, Dr. Solhpour is well trained and expert at handling critical, life-threatening situations. In emergencies like cardiac arrest or cardiogenic shock, he skillfully employs percutaneous ECMO placement, bypassing both the lung and heart as a bridge to definitive treatment. He also addresses life-threatening pulmonary embolism and arterial thrombus using reduced dose targeted fibrinolytic techniques. He also has expertise in lipid management though his extra training in this field.

A prolific researcher, Dr. Solhpour has published over 30 papers in peer-reviewed journals and presented at prestigious national and international conferences, including the American Heart Association and the American College of Cardiology.
