Meet Dr. Amir H. Sadrzadeh Rafie, MD, the current president of Glendale Heart Institute Medical Group, Inc., a highly esteemed Interventional Cardiologist renowned for his exceptional expertise and commitment to patient care.
Dr. Rafie's journey towards becoming a renowned cardiologist commenced with his medical degree from Tehran University of Medical Sciences. He further honed his research acumen at Stanford University Medical Center, collaborating with distinguished leaders in molecular imaging and stem cell therapy in cardiovascular disease, exercise stress testing, and vascular medicine-an experience he deeply cherished. Determined to excel in his field, Dr. Rafie completed his Internal Medicine residency at Yale New Haven Hospital, Yale School of Medicine, followed by a Cardiology fellowship at Cedars Sinai Medical Center. His pursuit of excellence led him to specialize in Interventional Cardiology at University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
Dr. Rafie has obtained 6 board certifications in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, Interventional Cardiology, Echocardiography, Nuclear Cardiology, and Cardiovascular Computed Tomography, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of his field. With a passion for cardiovascular disease, he caters to a diverse array of patient needs specializing in preventive cardiology, coronary artery disease (CAD), valvular heart disease, structural heart disease, heart failure, hypertension, lipid disorders, rhythm abnormalities such as atrial fibrillation (afib) and peripheral vascular disease (PVD). Dr. Rafie�s clinical interest include: coronary angiography and angioplasty, performing complex percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI) in High-risk Indicated Patients (CHIP) for treatment of Chronic Total Occlusions (CTO), Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) for treatment of severe aortic stenosis, MitraClip procedure for treatment of severe mitral regurgitation, WATCHMAN procedure, PFO/ASD closure, and percutaneous treatment for venous (including varicose veins) and peripheral arterial diseases.
Since 2017, Dr. Rafie serves as the Medical Director of the Chest Pain Center at Adventist Health Glendale, exemplifying his leadership and dedication to improving patient outcomes. He has played a key role in establishing structural heart disease program and starting TAVR program at Adventist Health Glendale in 2016. As a dedicated contributor to medical knowledge, Dr. Rafie's work has graced numerous peer-reviewed journals. Notably, he co-authored a book chapter on the transradial approach in structural heart disease.
He has shared his research findings and insights at national and international conferences. Currently Dr. Rafie is serving as a Principal Investigator of multiple clinical trials.
